Inntopia Commerce + Adyen®`
The Inntopia + Adyen integration is a tokenized gateway integration for high-volume enterprise companies that works on both Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm sales channels. The integration requires Card Verification Digits (CVD) or Card Verification Value (CVV) capability and supports the use of Address Verification Service (AVS).
- Works in both Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm.
- Tokenization
- Card Verification Value (CVV)
- Address Verification Service (AVS)
- Optional 3D Secure (3DS) authentication service (must opt in to enable) – 3DS only applies to Inntopia eComm.
- Refunds and Voids – Adyen uses a queue and a background processor to process the results of refunds and voids.
Tokenization for the Inntopia + Adyen integration is provided by Adyen.
The Inntopia + Adyen integration always requires Card Verification Digits (CVD) or Card Verification Value (CVV) code; however, CVV validation occurs ONLY at the time the credit card details are entered through the Adyen card entry form and NOT at the time the card is charged.
Address Verification Service (AVS) is a part of credit card authorization that aids in preventing fraudulent online transactions by verifying the billing address submitted by a customer with the billing address on file with the credit card company. Once submitted, the credit card company replies to the payment gateway with a response code indicating whether or not the billing address, and subsequently card ownership, is verified as a match.
In the Inntopia + Adyen integration, AVS is supported through Adyen (rather than through an Inntopia setting).
For information on selecting, or whitelisting, the AVS codes for which you want to allow or deny payments, contact your Adyen representative.
3D Secure (3DS) is an online payment security protocol that adds an extra layer of authentication to credit and debit card transactions, verifying the card holder’s identity to reduce fraud and unauthorized chargebacks.
3DS is an optional feature of the Inntopia + Adyen integration specifically for Inntopia eComm.
The Adyen payment gateway uses a queue and a background processor to process the results of refunds and voids.
Inntopia sends refunds and voids to Adyen for processing and Adyen sends the results of that processing back to Inntopia. Most refunds and voids are approved in Adyen; therefore, the Inntopia system immediately assumes and records a successful refund or void.
Occasionally, but rarely, a refund or void may fail in Adyen (usually due to a timeout issue or queue delay) shortly after Inntopia records a successful refund or void. Upon receipt in Inntopia, the failed refund or void is automatically reversed in Inntopia.
Failed refunds and voids must be resubmitted to Adyen for processing.
To check for failed refunds and voids, Inntopia recommends regularly running the <Future Cash Receivables> report in Inntopia CRS.
Adyen provides explanations of reason codes returned on unapproved credit card transactions. For a list of these codes, contact your Adyen representative.
The Adyen integration uses the Adyen entry form in Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm for collecting and storing customer credit card information. This entry form is different from the form used in other Inntopia payment gateway integrations.
